Joint practices between NFL teams have become increasingly popular over the last decade. Typically, each NFL team hosts its own practice and training camp, but in recent years some teams have held practices with other teams to help evaluate player personnel more effectively ahead of 53-man roster cuts. These practices normally take place in August, when training camps and preseason games are in full swing.
The Washington Commanders have recently had joint practices with teams like the New York Jets, Baltimore Ravens, and Miami Dolphins, among others. In 2025, it seems the Commanders and New England Patriots are planning a joint practice.

Should the league approve the practice, it also means the Commanders will have an away preseason game against the Patriots during the week the two teams practice together because the practices will be held in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
The Commanders will have eight home games and nine away games, including trips to Kansas City and Philadelphia. The rest of the preseason and regular season schedules will be released in May when everything is finalized.
