Mike Vrabel makes admission on looming pressure as Patriots coach

New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel isn't shying away from the looming pressure he faces at the 2025 NFL draft.

The Patriots hold the fourth overall pick in the draft, and whatever choice is made could set the team up for future failure or success.

Multiple options could be on the table. The Patriots could trade back for more picks, or they could draft for need by taking one of the top left tackles off the board early. They might also decide to draft the best player available, which could end up being Penn State's Abdul Carter or Colorado's Travis Hunter.

"You can put it on me. I'm a big boy, trust me." Vrabel said at the NFL Annual Meeting. "We're going to have a lot of things that go well, which will be due to the players and assistant coaches. And then we'll have some things that won't go so well, and you can put those on me. I can handle it."

Vrabel clearly wants to establish transparency and accountability right out of the gates.

He'll surely get the praise when things go right, but he's also willing to take the blame when things go wrong for the team. The latter is especially crucial for a rebuilding team hoping to turn a corner under his leadership.
