LSU DT Ahmad Breaux on being reunited with defensive line coach Kyle Williams

When LSU football hired Kyle Williams to serve as the Tigers' new defensive line coach, LSU defensive tackle Ahmad Breaux was reunited with his high school coach.

Before Williams and Breaux were at LSU, Williams was the defensive coordinator for Breaux's defense at Ruston High School. With spring football underway, Williams hit the field for the first time with his new group at LSU.

Breaux said playing for Williams again is like a "flashback."

"Coach Kyle's a great coach. He not only teaches you technique, but he teaches you the right way about going about things, teaches you how to hustle, how to work, you know, just all around. He's a great coach. He cares about the individual himself while also caring about the team as a whole," Breaux said.

Breaux said Williams is allowing the group to play faster out of a three-technique with more limited thinking.

"A lot of defensive linemen like it. I think it's good stuff," Breaux said.

Breaux highlighted Williams' 13 years in the NFL and said that he gained immediate respect among the players at LSU.

Williams is taking over a talented defensive tackle room. Breaux made an immediate impact as a true freshman in 2024, as did Dominick McKinley. Both are on the verge of having breakout sophomore years. Williams will have a veteran presence to work with thanks to the return of sixth-year senior Jacobian Guillory.
