HIGH POINT – Southwest Guilford edged Northwest Guilford 2-1 in a key Metro 4A Conference girls soccer match Thursday at Southwest.
Ali Bennett scored the go-ahead goal on a flurry of chances near the goal in the 44th minute after the teams were tied 1-1 at halftime. Josie Tucker also scored a goal, while Kory Lloyd had an assist.
Maya Lance got the win in goal for the Cowgirls (11-3-1 overall, 4-2 conference), who tightened the Vikings' (8-1-2, 5-1) lead atop the conference standings.
HIGH POINT CENTRAL, ATKINS
HIGH POINT – High Point Central lost 10-0 against Atkins in Mid-State 3A Conference girls soccer Thursday at Correll-Morris Field. The Bison moved to 1-10-3 overall and 1-4-1 in the conference.
BISHOP McGUINNESS, CORNERSTONE CHARTER
GREENSBORO – Bishop McGuinness beat host Cornerstone Charter 2-0 in Northwest Piedmont 1A Conference girls soccer Thursday.
Anna Aufrance and Alyssa Dixon-Velez each scored for the Villains (12-2 overall, 7-0 conference). Ashley Hawley had an assist. MacKenna Langdon, who had two saves, and Charlie Schoen split time in goal.
RAGSDALE, WESTERN GUILFORD
GREENSBORO – Ragsdale won 4-0 against Western Guilford in Metro 4A Conference girls soccer Thursday at Western.
Gabby Graham scored two goals and dished one assist to lead the Tigers (8-5 overall, 2-4 conference). Jacquelyn Shaner and Nikolina Jorgic each had a goal, while Micah Moody had an assist. Madison Salthouse, who made two saves, and Marley Clark split time in goal.
SOUTHERN GUILFORD, DUDLEY
SUMNER – Southern Guilford won 9-0 against Dudley in Mid-State 3A Conference girls soccer Thursday at Southern.
Courtney Griffith scored four goals for the Storm (4-7-1 overall, 4-2 conference). Aline Aburto added two scores, while Yolani Carmona, Arlette Garcia and Aidelys Martinez each had one.

SOUTHWEST GUILFORD, PAGE
GREENSBORO – Southwest Guilford fell 11-5 against Page in Metro 4A Conference girls lacrosse Thursday at Page. The Cowgirls moved to 5-7 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
In the boys match, Southwest lost 16-6 to move to 0-11 and 0-4.

AT EAST DAVIDSON
THOMASVILLE – East Davidson took second in the girls team score and thrid in the boys team score during Thursday's track meet at East.
West Davidson won both team scores – with 121 points for the girls and 103.5 for the boys. East was second with 96.5 for the girls and third with 50.5 for the boys.
Aniya Duncan (girls 200, 29.30), Madyson York (girls 1600, 6:16.00; girls 3200, 13:24.00), Laura Nunez-Pena (girls long, 14-4.5), McKenzie Moroni (girls triple jump, 31-2.5), Danica Vogley (girls pole vault, 8-0), Shelby Woodrum (girls discus, 105-1) and Parker Swicegood (boys 1600, 5:10.00) plus the boys 4x400 (3:40.55) and boys 4x800 (11:45.00) relays won for the Golden Eagles.
AT ASHEBORO
ASHEBORO – Oak Grove swept both team scores during Thursday's track meet at Asheboro.
The Grizzlies posted 92.5 points on the boys side, ahead of Asheboro with 71, and 82.5 points on the girls side, beating Asheboro with 67.5.
Kinley Wilson (girls 800, 2:51.40), Elsa Helms (girls 1600, 6:03.35, girls 3200, 12:51.97), Jayden Epperson (boys 100, 11.10; boys 200, 22.55) and Hunter Creech (boys 800, 1:58.78) won for the Grizzlies.
AT LEDFORD
WALLBURG – Ledford's girls took second while the boys were third in Thursday's track meet at Ledford.
North Davidson won both team scores – with 68 points for the boys and 66 for the girls. Ledford's girls were second with 62, followed by Central Davidson with 57. Central's boys were second with 66, trailed by Ledford with 47.
