Lake Travis standout Amelia Clark scored three goals, managing the hat trick as the No. 4-ranked Cavaliers defeated No. 3 Round Rock 4-2 on Tuesday night in the Class 6A Division I regional finals, advancing to this weekend's state semifinals.
Clark, who'll play at UTSA, displayed a deft touch, incredible ball control and a penchant for being in the right position as the Cavaliers (21-1-1) defended their home pitch against the veteran Dragons (22-2-2). After Clark's three goals, Jazmyn Diaz added a fourth goal for the final margin.
“Amelia is just amazing,” Lake Travis head coach William Maloney said. He's 52-13-5 in his three seasons with the Cavs, who haven't lost since Jan. 2 to Coppell, who fell in its regional final in an overtime shootout to Grapevine.
