Lady Vol selected for college all-star basketball game

Tennessee women's basketball player Jewel Spear will participate Lilly Women's All-Star Game.

Spear will join other seniors Saturday to compete in a nationally televised game. Tipoff for the contest is slated for 3 p.m. EDT at Hillsborough Community College-Mabry Campus in Tampa, Florida. ESPN2 will televise the contest.

She was one of 20 players selected to play in the game, which will give athletes one final opportunity to represent their schools against the backdrop of championship weekend.

The 5-foot-10 guard averaged 12.5 points per game for the Lady Vols during the 2024-25 season. Spear led Tennessee with 77 made three-point attempts, tied for fifth in program history for a single season.

Spear helped the Lady Vols to a 24-10 record and ranked as high as No. 11 in national polls. Tennessee totaled four wins against ranked teams during the campaign, including over No. 5 UConn, and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the 2025 NCAA Tournament in its first season under head coach Kim Caldwell.

A fifth-year player for the Lady Vols, Spear scored 20-plus points in six games in her final season.
