Joe Mazzulla wants to have a dust-up with Jayson Tatum like Andy Reid and Travis Kelce

Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum is one of the most likable players throughout the league, respected by opponents, peers, and fans everywhere. While Tatum comes off as more of a reserved superstar around the league, Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla would like to see more fight and grit out of his personality, comparing it to one of the biggest NFL superstars in the world.

Last week Tatum was a guest on the 'New Heights' podcast hosted by NFL brothers Jason and Travis Kelce, and the latter was used in a comparison from Mazzulla about his relationship with the Celtics superstar. Speaking on a high-profiled moment captured on camera during a game in which Kelce got into a heated and animated conversation with Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid in Super Bowl LVIII last year. Tatum told the Kelce brothers that the highly-talked about moment is something Mazzulla suggested he'd like out of him between the two of them at some point.

"Joe is crazy," Tatum told the podcast. "We actually talked about you [Travis Kelce], we played Portland the other day and I ended up getting a technical foul when the game was pretty much over. Joe comes up to me after the game and asked if I can get four more to get a suspension, because if you get 16 in a season, you get suspended for a game. I told him I was done, and he said he'd rather have me come punch him in the face, saying he wants to fight. He said when Travis Kelce ran into Andy Reid, do that to me."

Mazzulla has never been one to shy away from intense moments, and has quite the personality to go with his loved for the UFC and mixed martial arts. His brash coaching style mixed with Tatum's reserved personality has caused the head coach to call for a dust up between the two, only to light a fire under the franchise superstar who has been questioned of being too nice in his career.
