Fossil Ridge’s Winter Percussion ensemble won the scholastic open division title of the Rocky Mountain Percussion Association state championships. The ensemble’s performance of “A Ghost Story” at the U.S. Air Force Academy’s Clune Arena earned a season-best score of 87.5. The state championship capped a season in which the Fossil Ridge Winter Percussion ensemble won every competition it entered, including a WGI regional championship it hosted March 15.

The Winter Guard and Winter Percussion success continued a strong tradition of championship performances for Fossil Ridge High School’s music program. The school’s marching band has won seven Colorado Class 5A state championships in the past 13 years, including a current string of three in a row.
