Final 2025 NFL Draft Quarterback rankings
The NFL Draft is always a fluid process, with a lot of information constantly coming in about the players within the class. Every position requires countless hours of film, combing over testing numbers, looking at work at all-star games and pro days. Through it all, a clearer image of the players within each position group appears.
The first position we are discussing in our final rankings is quarterback.
This class has two heavy hitters that everyone knows and is split on Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders. Either one could go in the top three, and no one would bat an eye. Behind them, there is a bunching of players like Jaxson Dart, Quinn Ewers, and Jalen Milroe. After that, there is a handful of players clinging to what they hope is a roster spot that allows them to earn a shot at paying meaningful snaps down the road.
Here are our final top 15 quarterbacks ranked for the 2025 NFL Draft.
15) Seth Henigan, Memphis
Height: 6-3 / Weight: 215 lbs. / Hand Size: 9" / RAS Score: 7.11
Notable Testing Numbers
4.76 40-yard dash time
9'06" broad jump
Player Thoughts
Seth Henigan does not have the juice in my opinion, to be an NFL quarterback, even as a backup. He was a fun college quarterback and led Memphis to success post-Mike Norvell, which was a time when the program could easily have sunk. At the most, he brings in a good work ethic and practice squad option.
Player Grade: 5.45 (UDFA)
14) Brady Cook, Missouri
Height: 6-2 / Weight: 214 lbs. / Hand Size: 9 1/4" / RAS Score: 9.68
Notable Testing Numbers
4.59 40-yard dash time
10'08" broad jump
Player Thoughts
Brady Cook was injured in 2024 and didn't look like the lively player he was in 2023. The entire Missouri offense took a step back as a result, which makes his projection tough to do. I believe Cook could be a fun camp arm and stick around the NFL in that way as a result. I just fail to see a team drafting him within the seven rounds he will be available. Someone will grab him up quickly post-draft as a UDFA, though.
Grade: 5.49 (UDFA)
13) Graham Mertz, Florida
Height: 6-3 / Weight: 212 lbs. / Hand Size: 9 3/4" / RAS Score: N/A
Notable Testing Numbers
None due to injury
Player Thoughts
Graham Mertz has shown flashes of being an NFL backup, not much beyond that. 2024 was tough for him on several fronts before ultimately tearing his ACL and ending his season and college career. Mertz strikes me as that Colt McCoy type where he improves your quarterback room and is able to serve as an example for others within it. If he has to start in an emergency situation, he will be able to manage things and not turn the ball over. Unfortunately, he won't be the reason a team wins the game if that situation were to arise.
Grade: 5.55 (UDFA)
12) Max Brosmer, Minnesota
Height: 6-2 / Weight: 217 lbs. / Hand Size: 9 1/2" / RAS Score: N/A
Notable Testing Numbers
Did not test at the combine
Player Thoughts
Max Brosmer is a physically gifted quarterback who has the leadership and arm talent to earn a chance within a quarterback room at the next level. He didn't make the leap some folks expected going from New Hampshire to Minnesota, but he showed he has some NFL traits. Look for Brosmer to be on an NFL roster as an emergency quarterback or practice squad stash for someone.
Grade: 5.77 (UDFA)
11) Kyle McCord, Syracuse
Height: 6-3 / Weight: 218 lbs. / Hand Size: 9 1/2" / RAS Score: N/A
Notable Testing Numbers
Did not test at the combine
Player Thoughts
Kyle McCord proved a lot of people wrong in 2024 during g his breakout season at Syracuse. He has a live arm, can make throws downfield, and displayed moments of being able to put good touch on his passes. The downside that flashed at times was when things weren't going his way he struggled to be able to fight his way through it and lift up his team around him. That, of course, could change in the NFL, but I struggle to see him becoming a starter at the next level.
Grade: 5.85 (Day Three Pick)
10) Kurtis Rourke, Indiana
Height: 6-4 / Weight: 220 lbs. / Hand Size: 9 3/8" / RAS Score: N/A
Notable Testing Numbers
Did not test at the combine
Player Thoughts
Kurtis Rourke lifted the entire Indiana football program in 2024 after transferring in from Ohio. Rourke, like McCord, found success with his new team but in a different way. He was the leader and rising tide that lifted all the boats around him on the Indiana offense but they couldn't surpass the good level. Rourke, as an NFL quarterback, could be good, but they struggle to see a team able to get much more juice out of him at this point in the game.
Grade: 5.9 (Day Three Pick)
9) Will Howard, Ohio State
Height: 6-4 / Weight: 236 lbs. / Hand Size: 9" / RAS Score: 8.76
Notable Testing Numbers
9'04" broad jump
Player Thoughts
Will Howard has a good arm for teams to work with and makes good decisions to avoid turnovers. The run he took the Buckeyes on to the National Championship cannot and should not be dismissed either. Howard showed he can lead a team back from the ashes, and that is something that NFL teams are going to like when they evaluate him. He will likely earn a chance to play a meaningful role on a team at the next level, and could even turn into a late-season starter in the right situation as a team tries to see what he has. I'm not saying he can make the same type of jump as hi,m but Will Howard reminds me of Brock Purdy in the way he plays and leads.
Grade: 6 (Day Three Pick)
8) Dillon Gabriel, Oregon
Height: 5-11 / Weight: 205 lbs. / Hand Size: 9 1/4" / RAS Score: N/A
Notable Testing Numbers
Did not test at the combine
Player Thoughts
Gabriel is by far the smallest quarterback in this class, and he is behind the eight-ball with the NFL and fans. That being said, though, he has an explosive arm that can push the ball downfield with some surprising pop. I also like Gabriel's decision-making and accuracy, as they are both among the best in the class. The size is going to cause some issues, though, and he won't be a starter anytime soon, but I think he could earn some starts to show what he has at some point in the right situation.
Grade: 6.05 (Day Three Pick)
7) Tyler Shough, Louisville
Height: 6-5 / Weight: 219 lbs. / Hand Size: 9 3/4" / RAS Score: 9.3
Notable Testing Numbers
4.63 40-yard dash time
9'09" broad jump
Player Thoughts
Tyler Shough is getting a lot of talk that he is the most underrated quarterback in this class and could even go in the first round. I do not see that at all, but that's the beauty of the NFL Draft: it takes one team for that to happen. I get the appeal with Shough, though, as he has a great arm and physical traits for days, but at his age, he isn't likely to develop much else. I like him a lot as a backup, even a reliable one, in the NFL, but not much more can be envisioned beyond that for me.
Grade: 6.07 (Day Three Pick)
6) Riley Leonard, Notre Dame
Height: 6-4 / Weight: 216 lbs. / Hand Size: 9 1/2" / RAS Score: N/A
Notable Testing Numbers
Did not test at the combine
Player Thoughts
Riley Leonard has clumped himself into a lot of these quarterbacks in terms of expectations as a day-three projection. What separates Leonard for me is his ability to extend plays and make them with his legs if need be. I am a sucker for these types of quarterbacks as they can help cover up deficiencies in the offensive line and also extend drives with scrambling first downs.
Grade: 6.1 (Day Three Pick)
5) Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss
Height: 6-2 / Weight: 223 lbs. / Hand Size: 9 1/2" / RAS Score: N/A
Notable Testing Numbers
Did not test at the combine
Player Thoughts
Another highly polarizing player in this quarterback class is Jaxson Dart, who is also getting first-round hype. What I see on film is a big arm, and big plays, and a lot of those are manufactured as a result of the offense he ran at Ole Miss under Lane Kiffin. The entire Ole Miss offense is something I am down on in terms of their draft potential, in part of the offense they ran, and for Dart, I struggle to see any creativity in him. I just don't see an NFL starter but rather a backup who stays in the league for years because of his arm talent alone, ala Jameis Winston.
Grade: 6.15 (Day Three Pick)
4) Quinn Ewers, Texas
Height: 6-2 / Weight: 214 lbs. / Hand Size: 9 3/8" / RAS Score: N/A
Notable Testing Numbers
Did not test at the combine
Player Thoughts
Quinn Ewers is going to be a low-risk, high-reward option for teams in April. Something was off in 2024, and he played below expectations, which resulted in him not taking the jump that many had hoped for. Despite those hindrances, I believe Quinn Ewers is worth investing in if you are an NFL team. He needs to go somewhere where he can sit behind an established veteran and where he can just develop and grow mentally with the game. He has flashes of brilliance on the field, his two games against Alabama are prime examples, and because of that, I believe he is worth the time.
Grade: 6.17 (Day Three Pick)
3) Jalen Milroe, Alabama
Height: 6-2 / Weight: 217 lbs. / Hand Size: 9 3/8" / RAS Score: N/A
Notable Testing Numbers
Did not test at the combine
Player Thoughts
Not many people believe in Jalen Milroe at this point in his draft process, but I refuse to give up on him. Physical traits? check. Shown he can overcome adversity? Check. Athletic ability to make special plays? Check. Ironically, his biggest issue is his accuracy, which for a quarterback can prove to be vital. I think some small tweets to his footwork and throwing motion would allow him to be a playmaker at the quarterback position with the right play-caller. As a runner, he has shown time and again that he can extend plays and make them go for first downs and more. Sign me up for an investment of Jalen Milroe on my team.
Grade: 6.25 (Day Two Pick)
2) Shedeur Sanders, Colorado
Height: 6-1 1/2 / Weight: 212 lbs. / Hand Size: 9 3/8" / RAS Score: N/A
Notable Testing Numbers
Did not test at the combine
Player Thoughts
Shedeur Sanders is the easiest and toughest evaluation in this entire class. We have seen him play since he was a freshman at Jackson State, and we saw him take a leap when he joined Colorado in the last two years. He has the arm strength to handle any conditions he may face, and he has good accuracy and techniques, but can he be the leader of an NFL team? He has all the talent in the world to be considered a starting NFL quarterback. What we do not know is how he will be able to address and lead a team, but we have seen some ups and downs at Colorado. Someone will take a chance on him, and he will either sink or swim as a result.
Grade: 6.55 (Day Two Pick)
1). Cam Ward, Miami (FL)
Height: 6-2 / Weight: 219 lbs. / Hand Size: 9" / RAS Score: N/A
Notable Testing Numbers
Did not test at the combine
Player Thoughts
Cam Ward has the leadership, arm talent, and play-making ability needed to be a fun NFL quarterback. Ward has some questions regarding playing up to stiffer competition, but no one can argue he isn't a gamer for any situation he is thrown into. His ability to face adversity and rise up when the situation calls for it earns him my QB1 ranking. Unfortunately, despite those positives I listed, they are all good traits, he lacks anything being done at a great or elite level. He is going to be drafted in the top three come April and will have a chance to succeed, I just question what type of quarterback he can be a for a team in terms of being a reason they take the next step in their development.
Grade: 6.65 (Day Two Pick)
