Where Dylan Sampson ranks among running backs in 2025 NFL draft
Draft Wire updated its running back rankings for the 2025 NFL draft class.
Former Tennessee running back Dylan Sampson ranked seventh among running backs in the class.
Running backs ranked ahead of Sampson include Ashton Jeanty of Boise State, Omarion Hampton of North Carolina, TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins of Ohio State, Kaleb Johnson of Iowa and Bhayshul Tuten of Virginia Tech.
"Sampson is nifty and runs smart, seemingly always finding the best path at just the right time," Jeff Risdon of Draft Wire said. "He's smallish and sometimes forgets that, notably when he attacks inside. The quick feet and subtle movements with his shoulders and hips create spaces where they shouldn't be, and that's Sampson's calling card. Fresh legs from low usage in his three years at Tennessee, but his lack of experience shows in the passing game."
Sampson was one of six former Vols to receive an invite to the 2025 NFL scouting combine. He did not compete in the 40-yard dash, but recorded a vertical jump of 35 inches, a broad jump of 10 feet, four inches and 13 bench press reps.
