What you should know: Originally developed for tour players, the Elyte Triple Diamond Max creates slightly more spin and more forgiveness than the standard Elyte Triple Diamond, while the Elyte Triple Diamond Tour Draw encourages a distance-enhancing right-to-left shot while retaining a small size and classic shape.

The deep dive: You might think that after releasing the Elyte, Elyte X, Elyte Triple Diamond, and Elyte Max Fast drivers in January, we might not hear about any new drivers coming from Callaway for a while. But the Carlsbad, California, based brand has opted to release two more drivers that previously had only been available to tour players – the Elyte Triple Diamond Max and Triple Diamond Tour Draw.

The Triple Diamond name was first given to clubs that were developed as prototypes for staff players like Jon Rahm, Xander Schauffele and Sam Burns. While the standard Epic, Rogue and Mavrik drivers were designed to help a wide range of recreational golfers, many strong players gravitated to low-spinning Sub-Zero versions of Callaway’s drivers.

Gathering feedback and making clubs for staff players started Callaway designers down paths to create more-specialized drivers that fit niche groups of players, and that’s where you’ll find the new Elyte Triple Diamond Max and Triple Diamond Tour Draw.

Elyte Triple Diamond Max

As a prototype, this club was Callaway’s most-played tour driver in 2024.

The Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond Max driver was created for golfers who need more spin and forgiveness than the standard Elyte Triple Diamond delivers, but who want the original club’s look in the address position and the ability to shape shots to either the left or right.

The Elyte Triple Diamond Max comes in 9- and 10.5-degree versions and has a 460cc volume, which is slightly larger than the standard Elyte Triple Diamond’s 450cc volume. That larger size pulls the center of gravity location slightly further back and down, which elevates the moment of inertia (MOI) and provides the added forgiveness.
