2025 NFL draft: New York Giants met with Arizona OL Jonah Savaiinaea
One of the primary goals for New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen this offseason was to find a more permanent solution at the right guard position.
Schoen missed out on the top free agents so far (Will Fries, Aaron Banks) and ended up signing back veterans Greg Van Roten and Aaron Stinnie, but guard remains high on the list as the 2025 NFL draft approaches.
One possibility is Arizona's Jonah Savaiinaea, a 6-foot-4, 324-pound three-year starter who is expected to be a Day 2 pick in the draft. The Giants have four selections in the first three rounds and should have a chance to snare some offensive line help/depth with one of those picks.
Savaiinaea sizes up as a guard, but could play tackle, much like current Giants lineman Jermaine Eluemunor does these days. He is willing to play anywhere on the line he is needed.
Got to catch up with Jonah Savaiinaea at the Big 12 Pro Day. Said he met with the Giants.

Love his versatility, played Left & Right tackle last year & said he wants to play guard in the NFL because he "wants to get his hand on people"
Loved his mindset. Violent player.… pic.twitter.com/MV7YGkqfg7
The Giants could use Savaiinaea at either position and, as we all know, do a lot of shuffling along the line these days due to injuries. The team is high on second-year guard Jake Kubas and is hoping to get a full season out of left guard Jon Runyan Jr.
Ultimately, the team would like to find a right tackle and shift Eluemunor back to guard. Of course, the best-case scenario there would be for the light to go on for former first-round pick Evan Neal, but they can't count on that.
