Who was the best of Gardner-area boys indoor track and field? The Gardner News is letting readers have a say in the winner.
Athletes found success this winter on the track and in field events, helping their teams to success and reaching their own personal milestones. These individuals stood apart from the rest and it is time to give them the recognition they deserve.
Readers can vote in the poll online and results will be combined with staff votes to determine the Boys Indoor Track Player of the Year. Check out the nominees below.
Jordan Baumann, Narragansett
The sophomore returns to this list after winning the title of Boys Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year in 2024. He placed second in the 55-meter hurdles and fourth in the long jump.
Jayden Brostrom, Oakmont
The junior was a standout this season for the Spartans. He came in first place in the mile at the Division 5 state championship. He also competed at the Meet of Champions as well as the New England Championship.
His contributions of 16 points also helped Oakmont win the Mid-Wach C league title.
Sokari Jenkins, Gardner
Jenkins continues to be a force for Gardner running. He was the Wildcats' top runner this fall in cross-country and continued his momentum into the winter season. The sophomore placed fifth in the 2-mile race at the Div. 5 state championship.
Ben Michalowski, Oakmont
Michalowski tied the school record in the high jump in his first season of track as a senior. He was fifth in the same event at the Div. 5 state championship and qualified for the Meet of Champions. He also had a big contribution to winning the league title by scoring 12 points.
Ryan Wing, Quabbin
Wing had a strong senior season for the Panthers. He finished 10th in the 1000 meter at the Div. 5 state championship meet.
