Vote for Louisville-area high school boys athlete of the week before polls close Thursday

The nominees for this week's Courier Journal boys athlete of the week delivered on baseball and lacrosse fields.

Voting is underway for The Courier Journal's boys athlete of the week. The poll closes at 6 p.m. Thursday, and the winner will be announced Friday.

Here are the nominees:

Blake Market, DeSales baseball

Senior Blake Market pitched a perfect game in the Colts' win over Western. He struck out seven batters in three innings.

Devin Elder, Bullitt East baseball

Senior Devin Elder stole five bases in the Chargers' season opener. He went 3 for 3, including two doubles.

Logan Leffler, Butler baseball

Freshman Logan Leffler didn't allow a hit and struck out eight in four innings against Waggener.

Braden Schwartz, Whitefield Academy baseball

Eighth grader Braden Schwartz went 4 for 5, including a double and a triple, and stole two bases in the Wildcats' victory over Valley.

Logan Huelsman, Collins lacrosse

Junior Logan Huelsman had seven goals and three assists in the Titans' win over Lafayette.
