The Oklahoma City Thunder have clinched the first seed. Not surprising considering they've held a double-digit game lead in the standings for most of the season. But let's look at the rest of the West playoff picture.

The Thunder return on the road to face the Houston Rockets on Friday. This will be the season's rare fifth game between the two squads. The NBA Cup helped with that as they met in the semifinals. OKC has won three of the four first contests.

Only two weeks remain in the 2024-25 regular season. Even though the Thunder aren't involved, plenty of heated races for seeding have ramped up as the margin for error gets thinner. Thunder Wire will conduct daily updates on the West's standings until the season ends:

What happened last night?

Timberwolves 105, Nets 90: The Timberwolves had an easy win but their stress levels were likely high. Anthony Edwards rolled his ankle on Jordi Fernandez when he walked backcourt after he attempted a corner 3-pointer. The scary injury looked worse than what it was. He returned and finished with an efficient 28 points.

Grizzlies 110, Heat 108: After a slap on the wrist for his gun-esque celebration, Ja Morant got back at the NBA. He did it again and will eat a fine, but that seems like a cost he's willing to take. He won't let the league spoil his fun as he scored a game-winner against Kel'el Ware. He finished with 30 points.

Warriors 123, Lakers 116: It's always a must-watch TV when LeBron James and Stephen Curry battle. Both are basketball pantheons who've been the faces of the NBA for the last decade-plus. In this latest edition, the Warriors got the better of the Lakers. Curry had 37 points and Bradin Podziemski had 28 points. Luka Doncic struggled with just 19 points.
