The United Football League’s second season kicked off last weekend, giving pros not quite up to NFL caliber the chance to play high-level competition.
Four players with local ties are presently on the rosters of the four UFL teams. These are those players and how they’re doing:
Tenny Adewusi, DB, Memphis Showboats
Adewusi was a force on Delaware’s loaded defense for its 2018 NCAA playoff team and is in his fourth season as a spring pro. He’s now with Memphis after stints with the old XFL’s Dallas Renegades in 2020 and San Antonio Brahmas in 2023 and the UFL’s Arlington Renegades last year, when he had 26 tackles and an interception in eight games. Adewusi didn’t play in the season-opening loss to Michigan.
Nolan Henderson, QB, Houston Roughnecks
The record-setting former Blue Hen passer and Smyrna state champion has continued to show his skills as both a passer and runner. He completed 7 of 18 passes for 68 yards and a touchdown after coming on during the second half of Houston’s season-opening 31-6 loss to St. Louis. Henderson also carried the football four times for 54 yards, including a 33-yard scamper on that one TD drive. Last year, Henderson played in five games for Houston, completing 43 of 74 passes for 531 yards and two TDs and also ran for 143 yards and a touchdown.
Niles Scott, DT, DC Defenders
Scott is an Elkton High grad who was then a Division III All-American at Frostburg State before the school’s recent climb to Division II. He appeared in six NFL games for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2018 before numerous practice-squad stops with other teams. He was a DC starter in 2024, making 29 tackles, and had one tackle in an 18-11 win over Birmingham in the 2025 opener.
