Alabama basketball Final Four team member hits transfer portal after season away from Tide

Another Alabama basketball player from the Crimson Tide's Final Four run has entered the transfer portal.

On Monday morning, The Field of 68 Network's Jeff Goodman shared that a "source" informed him Jayhawks guard Rylan Griffen has entered the transfer portal.

The 6-foot-6, 190 pound junior averaged just 6.3 points per game as his new team went from flying high at No. 1 in the country to a lackluster 21-13 finish.

About an hour earlier, Goodman reported a "source" informed him that Crimson Tide coach Nate Oats has no interest in the Maryland job after unverified reports circulated that the Terrapins were interested in the sixth-year skipper on Sunday evening.

Goodman didn't mention whether Griffen received any continued interest from Alabama. However, a return isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Griffen left Alabama seeking more freedom to make shots, especially from mid-range, but Oats' system appeared to fare best for the Dallas, Tex. native.
