Four former Ohio State football players on UFL rosters

Former Ohio State football players are littered throughout the ranks of the game. From broadcasters to media personalities, to NFL stars, to those in other levels of the game, you can find the colors of Scarlet and Gray all across the football world.

Take, for instance, the United Football League, or UFL for short. It's the league that saw the USFL and XFL come together to bring a little spring football to our high-definition television sets and streaming devices. It's a space that hasn't been able to stay at the forefront of football minds, but no matter the play, it's still a chance to continue to pay the game in hopes of getting a shot to make it to the NFL and live out a childhood dream.

To that end, four former OSU players are on UFL rosters, a collection of talent that began play on Friday night. So, which former Buckeyes will be performing and giving us a chance to cross the bridge from the end of the traditional football season on towards getting into training camps.

Damon Arnette, Cornerback - Houston Roughnecks

Remember when Arnette was an NFL first-round pick of the Raiders? The world was his oyster, but he had a couple of severe off-the-field issues that derailed his career. He was caught on video making threats with a gun while with Las Vegas and subsequently released. The Chiefs picked him up, but he found legal trouble after he was arrested for assault. He's hoping for a shot at redemption with the Roughnecks.

Steele Chambers, Linebacker - Memphis Showboats

Chambers graduated from Ohio State in 2023 and went undrafted in the 2024 NFL draft. He got a couple of tryouts in camps with the Detroit Lions and New England Patriots but didn't make the roster of either. Chambers will now be looking to impress enough to get another crack at continuing his football career.

Joining Chambers in Memphis is Jackson. He is no stranger to spring football, having played for the Seattle Dragons of the XFL in 2023 and the St. Louis Battlehawks of the USFL in 2024. He had modest success with both and will now try to build upon ...
