The Tennessee Titans are in the final stages of their draft process, conducting top 30 visits with players they are considering drafting on April 24 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Their first pick is all but chosen, but they have seven other picks to work through as well. To that end, the Titans are hosting Ohio State guard Donovan Jackson for a top 30 visit today in Nashville. Paul Kuharsky writes:
Former Titans scout Blake Beddingfield, who now consults with NFL teams, has [Charles] Grant as a late second-rounder, Jackson as a second-rounder and [Kyle] Williams as a third-rounder. But he rates those as "value grades" and says most players will go a full or half-round higher because of the lack of top-tier talent available.
The Titans answered some offensive line questions in free agency by signing Dan Moore and Kevin Zeitler, but that doesn't mean they are ignoring the offensive line. You never know what will happen during the season, and the Titans experienced some serious depth problems along the offensive line in 2024. Looking at Jackson is due diligence, especially if they think he's better than someone currently on the roster.
Jackson is a three-year starter at Ohio State and now a national champion. He's strong, built for the position, and incredibly athletic. He's also adaptable and can fit in just about any scheme. Every player needs some kind of development, and he will need to nail down some foundational techniques, but he has all of the intangibles.
The Titans will have plenty of opportunity to add depth to their roster with their late-round stockpile of draft picks. But, as Kuharsky indicated above, the likes of Grant, Jackson, and Williams likely won't be there past the second round due to a lack of talent at their respective positions in this draft class. So, if the Titans want a shot at any of these players, they'll have to use a second-round pick.
