The Post's Athlete of the Week: Vote on this week's best high school sports performances
Welcome to Athlete of the Week voting from The Palm Beach Post!
The poll is open until noon Friday.
Congratulations to our latest winner, Kane Decker of Seminole Ridge baseball. The junior tallied two hits, including a home run, and stole two bases, accounting for a team-leading seven RBIs during an 8-4 win over Palm Beach Gardens.
Each winner will be awarded a one-of-a-kind Athlete of the Week shirt provided by BSN SPORTS. Winners will be contacted weekly. Nominations are accepted via email or phone but will be selected by staff in the absence of submission.
Baseball: Tyler Greenberg, Olympic Heights — Senior pitched 6.1 innings with 11 strikeouts, topping out at 91 mph in a 4-3 OT loss to Piper
Baseball: Jhon Abreu, Wellington — Senior pitched seven innings, allowing just one run paired with 12 strikeouts in a 2-1 victory over Park Vista
Softball: Sophia Britton, Berean Christian — 8th grader tallied five runs, three hits, two walks, and a pair of RBIs in a 23-13 slugfest win over Highlands Christian
Boys lacrosse: Dominic Muscari, Jupiter Christian — Senior scored four goals and tallied an assist in a 9-3 victory over Suncoast
Girls lacrosse: Morgan Mints, Seminole Ridge — Senior scored three goals and tallied an assist in an 8-4 victory over Dwyer
Boys track and field: Michael Winfield, Benjamin — Senior won both the 100 meter (11.24) and 200 meter (22.36) events at the Benjamin Invite
Girls track and field: Jane Lockhart, Boynton Beach — Senior posted a 4.74 meter mark in the girls long jump, taking first place in the Clyde Harris Invitational
Boys volleyball: Jack Rex, St. John Paul II — Senior paced the Eagles with 17 kills in a 3-0 match sweep over Donna Klein Jewish Academy
Flag football: Jordana Weil, Park Vista — Junior completed 29 passes for 266 yards passing, tossing five touchdowns in a 41-6 win over Suncoast
