Texas A&M softball sweeps LSU for the first time on conference play after 4-1 Game 3 win

No. 3 Texas A&M (37-5, 11-3 SEC) secures a Top 10 SEC series sweep after beating No. 6 LSU (35-8, 8-7 SEC) 4-1 in Game 3 in front of a record crowd at Davis Diamond.

Bring out the brooms as the Aggies made program history with their first-ever sweep of LSU after the win on Sunday. They also have the best conference record and are riding a 12-game winning streak with three SEC series left in the season. There is no doubt that once the rankings come out next week, the Aggies will still be considered one of the top three teams in the nation.

The Aggies overcame defensive challenges, including two costly errors, to secure a 4-1 win. SEC Player of the Week, KK Dement, made a game-changing impact with a powerful three-run home run over the left-field wall, electrifying fans at Davis Diamond. Amari Harper followed up in the next inning with a pivotal sacrifice fly, sending Kennedy Powell across home plate to provide a much-needed insurance run. LSU pushed back with a single run in the top of the seventh inning, but Aggie pitcher Emiley Kennedy kept her composure under pressure, inducing a groundout to seal the win for Texas A&M.

The three-game series between the Aggies and Tigers delivered on its promise of thrilling softball action, adding another chapter to the storied SEC competition. With their impressive 11-3 record, Texas A&M is positioning themselves as strong contenders for a number-one seed heading into postseason play.
