Seahawks want to host a pair of joint practices this summer

The Seattle Seahawks prepared for the 2024 NFL season by overseeing a rigorous training camp and preseason schedule. New head coach Mike Macdonald and his coaching staff installed their values and expectations throughout the summer. Part of that period included a joint practice with the Tennessee Titans in Nashville before their Week 2 preseason matchup. It's also worth noting the Seahawks would later trade for Titans linebacker Ernest Jones IV near the NFL trade deadline.

At the league's annual ownership meetings, Macdonald told reporters he plans to hold joint practices again this offseason, ideally both at home and on the road. That indicates the Seahawks will plan joint practices against two of their preseason opponents. Macdonald clearly sees value in live reps in a controlled environment versus another competitor, ESPN's Brady Henderson pointed out.

The Seahawks' preseason opponents haven't been announced yet. The expectation is they'll play three preseason games. The league typically releases the schedule in May, after the NFL draft. The Seahawks played two road and one home exhibition contests last year, so they'll likely play the majority of their preseason games at Lumen Field this year. Joint practices will occur on Macdonald's watch for a second consecutive offseason.
