On Thursday, the New England Patriots traded quarterback Joe Milton to the Dallas Cowboys in what amounted to a pick swap.
The Cowboys received Milton and a seventh-round pick with a fifth-round compensatory pick going back to New England. Both selections are from the 2025 NFL draft.
Before that trade, Milton drew interest from multiple other teams, including the Las Vegas Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Giants, reports NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
My understanding is since Joe Milton became available at the start of the offseason, teams that showed interest included the Raiders, Eagles, Giants, Steelers and the Cowboys.

As Schultz notes, the Patriots did receive a better offer for Milton than the Cowboys presented, but opted to honor the player's wishes. It's unclear if the Giants were the team that offered the largest return package.
The Giants likely expressed early offseason interest before moving on to other targets. They pursued Aaron Rodgers but ultimately settled on signing two decorated veterans, Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston.
Rodgers remains unsigned.
In Dallas, Milton will back up Dak Prescott and see the Giants twice per season, albeit from the bench, assuming Prescott can remain healthy.
The Giants, meanwhile, remain on the hunt for a young franchise quarterback of their own, which many expect they will find later this month in Green Bay.
