Rams named potential fit for veteran LB Kyzir White

The Los Angeles Rams need linebacker help.

Despite adding Nate Landman in free agency, the Rams still have a big hole at the position with Christian Rozeboom gone and Troy Reeder still on the open market. Landman and Omar Speights are the top two insider linebackers listed on the Rams' depth chart who have a combined 33 starts between them.

There aren't many good options left in free agency, but Bleacher Report's Maurice Moton believes the Rams would be a good fit for ex-Arizona Cardinals linebacker Kyzir White.

"Kyzir White is arguably the best linebacker available after the early waves of free agency," Moton wrote. "He's an eight-year veteran who has started in 73 out of 92 career games and has played his best football in recent years.

"In 2022, White allowed a 74.4 passer rating in coverage. Over the last three terms, he's surrendered just two touchdowns. The veteran linebacker has nine tackles for loss in back-to-back campaigns.

"White has blossomed into an impactful three-down defender who can line up in the middle, on the strong side or the weak side at his position."

White, who played safety in college, converted to linebacker when he joined the Los Angeles Chargers as fourth-rounder in 2018. He's since become a solid defensive contributor with 615 combined tackles and 34 tackles for a loss in his career. White has played a lot of WILL linebacker but could find a role in Chris Shula's defense as a starter or role player.

The Rams need defensive support in the competitive NFC. White isn't a star, but he's good and experienced enough to contribute and would likely be relatively cheap. Adding White wouldn't preclude the Rams from adding rookies in the draft, either, from their first-round at No. 26 all the way to one of their four six rounders.
