Rams cover all positions of need in new 7-round mock draft

The 2025 NFL Draft is less than a month away and with it comes a bevy of new predictions for all 32 teams.

The Los Angeles Rams have a couple of big needs they can address with their eight picks, although most of them are on Day 3 of the draft between the fourth and sixth rounds.

Pro Football Network's Brentley Weissman released a seven-round mock draft and predicted the Rams go offense-heavy early on while shoring up some key positions of need. Here's how Weissman drafted for the Rams:

  • Round 1, Pick No. 26: Kelvin Banks Jr., OT, Texas
  • Round 3, Pick No. 90: Savion Williams, WR, TCU
  • Round 3, Pick No. 101: Denzel Burke, CB, Ohio State
  • Round 4, Pick No. 127: Smael Mondon Jr., LB, Georgia
  • Round 6, Pick No. 190: Donovan Edwards, RB, Michigan
  • Round 6, Pick No. 195: Connor Colby, OG, Iowa
  • Round 6, Pick No. 201: Elijah Williams, EDGE, Morgan State
  • Round 6, Pick No. 202: JJ Pegues, DT, Ole Miss

The first four picks fill clear depth issues on the roster:

Banks is a starting-caliber tackle from a good SEC team who would likely begin on the Rams as a backup tackle that could take over if call upon. Williams is a big-bodied (6-foot-5, 212 pounds) receiver who has 14 touchdowns in the past three seasons and would give the Rams' offense more explosive-playmaking ability in the passing game. Burke is a four-year starter who gives the Rams' secondary much-needed depth and could became a solid defensive contributor. Mondon Jr. is fast and explosive tackler who can also sack the quarterback.

The rest of these selections are a little all over the place.

Edwards is intriguing as a backup running back, but he really fell off at Michigan following 990-yard, seven-touchdown season in 2023. The six-foot back is bigger than the Rams' current backfield and would give the unit more power. Him as a late-rounder isn't a bad risk, either.

Colby is a versatile lineman with experience at both guard spots and right tackle and 52 games of experience in four years at Iowa. Williams is an undersized edge rusher but dominated with 30-plus sacks and 50-plus tackles for loss in his four seasons at Morgan State. Pegues is another multi-positional defensive lineman who tallied 10.0 sacks in three seasons.

This wouldn't be a bad draft class for the Rams. While they wouldn't necessarily come out with an Week 1 starters, all of these picks add depth in areas of concern and give L.A. more young players to work with during this season and beyond.
