The Cleveland Browns remain one of the biggest mysteries as the 2025 NFL draft nears.
Will they take a quarterback no matter what, presumably Colorado's Shedeur Sanders? Will they take a blue chip player at the top of their board like Penn State's Abdul Carter or Colorado's Travis Hunter instead?
In a new mock draft from Daft on Draft, what do the Browns do? The Browns have stated they will not force the pick that high in the draft and will not take a quarterback at all costs. They have the owner's blessing to do so. Would they still take Sanders or would they pass on the quarterback early for a blue chip talent like Carter or Hunter?
Let's find out what Daft on Draft thinks:
Round 1, Pick No. 2: WR/CB Travis Hunter, Colorado
If the Browns do not go quarterback, taking the best player available makes the most sense. The Browns had the NFL's worst offense in 2024, and Abdul Carter won't change that. Hunter, who the team primarily views as a wide receiver, would. A tandem of Hunter and Jeudy to pair with tight end David Njoku is a significant upgrade for the Browns.
Round 2, Pick No. 33: QB Jalen Milroe, Alabama
The Browns are going to leave the 2025 NFL draft with a quarterback, and in this mock draft, they address that in the second round with the high-tooled but low-floored Alabama gunslinger Jalen Milroe. A hard worker, the Browns may be banking on finding their version of Jalen Hurts, who helped the Philadelphia Eagles get out from under the Carson Wentz contract. Can the Browns develop a talent like Milroe, though?
Round 3, Pick No. 67: TE Harold Fannin Jr., Bowling Green
David Njoku is the only tight end on the roster right now outside of a couple of guys who were on the practice squad a year ago. They are going to invest in a tight end as they get back to more 12 and 13 personnel looks in their return to their wide zone identity. There is no better fit to be a TE2, H-back, and move piece in that return to pair with Njoku than the Canton native Harold Fannin Jr.
Round 3, Pick 94: RB D.J. Giddens, Kansas State
Want to find the running back who has the most Day 1 potential to handle a heavy workload as a rookie outside of the likes of Ashton Jeanty, Kaleb Johnson, and Omarion Hampton? It's D.J. Giddens. He runs with patience, light feet, and elusiveness, and even tested off the charts at the NFL combine. He is a high-floor player who is going to contribute at the NFL level. Re-sign Nick Chubb and pair the duo for a year before handing the ...
