NFL analyst Albert Breer believes there's less of a likelihood that Colorado cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter or Penn State edge defender Abdul Carter falls to the New England Patriots at No. 4 in the 2025 NFL draft.
Hunter would be the dynamic playmaking threat that the Patriots need. He could play on either side of the football and serve as an immediate depth piece for the secondary or an impact player at receiver. The Colorado star won both the Heisman Trophy and Biletnikoff Award last season.
Carter would add a pass-rushing presence to a Patriots defense that could use help on the edge. He recorded 12 sacks and 68 tackles on the year and was a key piece of the Penn State defense.
"It's starting to feel to me like there's less and less of a likelihood that Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter get to the Patriots," Breer said on NBC Sports Boston. "The [Cleveland] Browns and [New York] Giants have at least given off some signals over the last week or two that they could take position players—Hunter, Carter, at [No. 2 or No. 3]."
There’s “less and less of a likelihood” that Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter fall to the #Patriots, per @AlbertBreer.

The Browns and Giants are two teams that also need help at the quarterback position. So the Patriots will have to hope that one of the teams draft a player like Colorado's Shedeur Sanders, if they want a chance at landing Hunter or Carter.
