Rams take injured CB in new LA Times mock draft

With a month left before the 2025 NFL Draft, there will be a lot of different players connected to different teams.

The Los Angeles Rams don't have any glaring needs, so their No. 26 pick could be anything. Being this late in the first round opens up the team to movement, taking a quarterback or just grabbing the best player available.

For the Los Angeles Times' Sam Farmer, he went in the direction with his mock draft that most pundits went for the Rams: Cornerback. But Farmer didn't pick one of the several others connected to the Rams. He tabbed Notre Dame's Benjamin Morrison with the No. 26 overall pick.

Morrison, who stands at 6-foot and 190 pounds, was a great cornerback for Notre Dame in 2022 and 2023. He tallied nine interceptions and 14 defended passes over 25 games during that span. However, Morrison sustained a season-ending hip injury six games into the 2024 season but is expected to return to form in 2025.

It's hard to gauge what type of cornerback Morrison will be when he is healthy, but he doesn't lack for confidence.

“My tape doesn’t lie,” Morrison said in February. “You have to look at what I’ve done, all my productivity. The things I accomplished in 2 ½ years can take guys four or five years. I don’t feel as if I have to sell myself. My main priority right now is to get fully healthy and then show the scouts what they want to see.”

The Rams have depth at cornerback between Ahkello Witherspoon, Darious Williams, Cobie Durant and Emmanuel Forbes Jr. but could always use more players. Having a developmental prospect like Morrison would also alleviate some pressure for the Rams to bring back all of these players in 2026.
