Pro Football Focus is one of the premier destinations for football information, both on the surface and the deeper you dive into the site. They have had a healthy amount of mock drafts in recent weeks and their latest has the Bucs trading back in round one.
Dalton Wasserman is one of the key figures for PFF, and his latest mock draft has the Bucs adding to the defense after trading back. He has them going from 19th overall to 30th after trading with the Bills while also getting the 62nd overall pick.
Wasserman has the Bucs selecting Trey Amos, the Ole Miss cornerback at 30th overall. He explains the pick, writing, "Tampa Bay ranked 30th in man coverage grade this past season. Amos is a press-man specialist who would allow Todd Bowles to be more aggressive with his coverages. Securing him and acquiring the 62nd pick in the draft would put Tampa Bay in a good position to improve its pass defense."
Amos has a high second-round grade from me, so drafting him at 30th makes a lot of sense for the Bucs. He has great length and could be a welcome addition to a secondary group led by Jamel Dean and Zyon McCollum in the cornerback room. They could use one more piece, and Amos would be a great fit for them and their needs.
