Now that most notable NFL free agents -- aside from Aaron Rodgers -- have signed contracts for the upcoming season, the 2025 NFL draft has taken center stage. The Atlanta Falcons hold five picks, including the 15th overall selection, and draft analysts are widely projecting the team to take an edge rusher in Round 1.
In 2024, the Falcons defense finished second-to-last in the NFL with 31 total sacks. While the pass rush undoubtedly needs to be addressed, the team has a best-player-available philosophy that has led to some shocking picks over the last four years.

Emmanwori has recorded six interceptions over the last two seasons, including four for the Gamecocks in 2024. At 6-foot-3, 230 pounds, Emmanwori is an imposing force in the secondary. He primarily played at strong safety last year but has experience playing both safety positions.
The Falcons could add an edge in the second round of the draft, but their lack of picks will make it harder to address the position outside of Round 1. Some potential mid-round options include Louisville's
