Bucs projected to draft scouting combine star in new mock draft

The NFL Draft is this month, and we are seeing more and more mock drafts in which the Bucs trade back in round one in an effort to gain more draft capital in a class where the value is found mostly on day two. Jason Licht has shown that he an be a master when it comes to evaluating talent in the NFL Draft, but one position has remained tough to evaluate.

Lance Zierlein of NFL Media published his third mock draft of the cycle, and he has Licht taking another chance on an edge rusher after several misses.

He has the Bucs drafting SEC defensive project and Scouting Combine king, Shemar Stewart, Zierlein writes that, "Stewart is unpolished but has elite size and rare athletic ability, and he's able to play standing up or with a hand down. It could be tough for Tampa Bay general manager Jason Licht to pass on these types of traits at a major position of need."

Stewart would be a project worth investing in though if you are the Bucs. The signing of Haason Reddick allows for the team to be a little more risky in their selection. Stewart has the potential for a major payoff but if it is another miss for Licht it may just never work out.
