Denzel Dumfries and Piotr Zielinski are targeting returns from injury in Inter Milan’s Serie A clash with Roma at the end of the month.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan have a few notable injury absentees at the moment.
One is wingback Denzel Dumfries.
The Dutchman picked up a thigh problem just before the international break, in Inter’s Serie A win over Atalanta.
Initially, the injury seemed quite innocuous for Dumfries. However, he has yet to feature in any of Inter’s matches back from the break.
Meanwhile, midfielder Piotr Zielinski has been recovering from a calf injury.
The Polish international suffered the injury during Inter’s Serie A clash with Monza last month.
Dumfries & Zielinski Target Return In Inter Vs Roma Serie A Clash
Dumfries has now been on the sidelines for several weeks.
And Zielinski has always looked likely to miss over a month of football.
Therefore, there is little hope of either returning imminently.
That is not ideal news for Inter, who continue to navigate a tricky fixture list through the month of April.
After this weekend’s Serie A clash with Cagliari, Inter take on Bayern Munich in a huge Champions League quarterfinal second leg. Dumfries and Zielinski will once again be absent.
Moreover, the Gazzetta report, neither of the pair will be able to return for the second leg of Inter’s Coppa Italia semifinal tie against AC Milan.
However, the newspaper anticipate, returns for both are on the horizon just beyond then.
The Gazzetta report that both Dumfries and Zielinski should be back for Inter’s final match of April. They host Roma in Serie A on the 27th.
