Francesco Pio Esposito could link up with Inter Milan’s squad for the FIFA Club World Cup if they are to reach the knockout stages.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan have confirmed that teenage striker Francesco Pio Esposito has signed a new contract.
The 19-year-old has committed his future to the Nerazzurri until the end of June 2030.
At the moment, striker Francesco Pio Esposito is on loan at Spezia.
The teenage striker has had a sensational season so far. He has scored fourteen goals for the Ligurian club, putting him joint second in the Serie B scoring charts.
Pio Esposito Could Join Inter Milan Squad For Club World Cup Knockouts
Now, the question is what comes next for Pio Esposito.
Inter are reportedly ready to loan the teenage striker to a club in Serie A next season.
Pio Esposito is certainly a player who Inter see as part of their future plans. However, he’s not quite ready for the first team squad just yet.
Therefore, a loan in the top flight seems the likeliest possibility.
On the other hand, reports the Gazzetta, there could be a big opportunity for Pio Esposito to get some experience with the Inter senior team this summer.
The Nerazzurri travel to the US for the Club World Cup in June.
Pio Esposito will not be there for the group stage of that competition. The 19-year-old has decided to prioritize the Under-21 Euros with Italy.
However, the Euros wrap up before the Club World Cup does. Therefore, if the timing allows for it, Pio Esposito could link up with the Inter squad should they make it out of their group.
