Morton JHS leads 10 Peoria-area volleyball teams at IESA state finals

The Illinois Elementary School Association volleyball state finals were March 2025 in locations across Illinois, and Morton Junior High earned trophies in both the seventh- and eighth-grade levels.

There were a combined 10 teams from Tri-County communities in the four-class state finals in both grades. Here is a look at how all the local teams fared, with highest finishers listed first.

Morton JHS | 27-4

  • Class: 8-4A at Morton JHS
  • Finish: Fourth place | lost to Homer Glen Homer on March 22.
  • Roster: Suvasini Patel, Emerson Mitchell, Grayce Irving, Kate Gronewold, June Lyons, Ainsley Bimrose, Tinley Sarff, Klhoe Pergler, Ellie Roth, Brooke Ceresa, Brielle Herrmann, Emme Martin, Carly Babin, Simone Leman and Hadley Lovell.

Morton JHS | 28-3

  • Class: 7-4A at Normal Kingsley
  • Finish: Fourth place | Lost to Minooka in third-place match on March 15.
  • Roster: Kylie Adolphson, Alyssa VanMeenen, Brynn Wyss, Maci Taylor, Eva Sefried, Ina Underwood, Collins White, Alexis Stephen, Penelope Rapp, Isla Bones, Katie Watson, Adelaide Purdy, Madeline Schuck, Parker Schick and Abryna Odari.
