LSU baseball clinches series win over No. 10 Oklahoma

After winning game one on Thursday against the Sooners, LSU baseball took the series with a win on Friday night. LSU took the lead early in this one and never looked back as they won 10-2.

In the top of the second inning, Chris Stanfield hit a two-RBI double to left field, Derek Curiel hit an RBI double, and Jared Jones hit an RBI single to give LSU a 4-0 lead early.

Anthony Eyanson got the start on the mound for LSU and the Sooners could not score on him until the bottom of the third inning when an error led to two runs scoring for the Sooners to cut the lead in half. As we headed to the fourth inning, LSU led 4-2.

Tigers make a pitching change

In the top of the sixth inning, Josh Pearson gave the Tigers an insurance run as he hit a solo shot to increase the lead to 5-2. In the bottom of the inning, Eyanson ran into some trouble and after getting two outs, he was pulled from the game. Eyanson finished the game after 5.2 innings pitched, giving up two runs on three hits, eight strikeouts, and four walks. The Tigers bullpen was fresh since Kade Anderson pitched all nine innings in Thursday's win. Casan Evans trotted out of the pen and got the final out of the inning without allowing a run.

In the top of the seventh inning, Steven Milam scored on a fielding error to extend the lead to 6-2 LSU. Evans remained in the game to pitch the bottom of the seventh, eighth, and ninth innings for LSU. In the top of the ninth, Danny Dickinson hit a solo shot to give LSU a 7-2 lead.

Pearson followed that with his second homer of the night to make it 8-2 Tigers. Stanfield then added to the lead with a two-RBI double to make it 10-2.
