LSU baseball continues SEC play on Thursday with the first of a three-game set at Oklahoma. The No. 5 Tigers hope to add to their five-game win streak after victories over Louisiana and Louisiana Tech and a sweep of Mississippi State.
The No. 10 Sooners are 23-5 and recovered following 1-2 weekend at No. 12 Alabama with a two-run win over Texas Tech. Six players are batting above .300, led by .377 from Trey Gambill. Easton Carmichael and Kyle Branch are tied for the team lead with 35 hits.
Following the third weekend of conference games, LSU leads all SEC teams with a .338 batting average, 324 hits and 71 doubles. Derek Curiel (.408) and Jared Jones (.404) rank fourth and fifth, respectively, in individual batting average and top-five in other hitting categories.
On the mound, Kade Anderson (61) and Anthony Eyanson (58) rank fourth and fifth, respectively in the SEC in strikeouts. Casan Evans is second with a 0.90 ERA through 20 innings pitched. They'll match up with the SEC leader in saves in Dylan Crooks, who has nine saves and a 1.42 ERA through 19 innings.
