The Longhorns have made the first addition of the Sean Miller Era. On Tuesday afternoon, former Xavier forward Dailyn Swain committed to Texas. He is coming off a breakout season playing under Miller, in which he averaged 11.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
In his last season with Xavier, Swain was a model of consistency, starting 33 of 34 games. He was a scoring machine during March, which Longhorns fans saw firsthand. In Xavier's win in the First Four, which ended the Longhorns season, Swain had 11 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. He followed that up with a career-high 27 point performance against Illinois in the Round of 64.

With Swain in the mix, the Longhorns have added a talented scorer and a defender who can get under opponents' skin. His past with Miller should help make the transition to a new school a little easier. For a team with high expectations, Swain will be a perfect fit.
Over the next few months, Miller will focus on filling his roster. He will also be able to benefit from having Jordan Pope and Chendall Weaver, who are expected to return. While the new Longhorns head coach has plenty of work to do, he has a good foundation to build on.
As more players enter the transfer portal, the Longhorns are expected to be one of the nation's busiest programs as they look to rebound from a disappointing 2024-2025 campaign.
