Keeping it in the family: Mintos voted SW Florida's top all-time wrestlers by fans

It came down to sibling rivalry, but either way, the Mintos reign supreme in Southwest Florida wrestling lore.

We picked our list of the area's greatest wrestlers and left it up to a fan's vote to determine who Southwest Florida fans thought was the best of all time. And the results were close.

Christopher "Tophy" Minto edged his big brother Christian Minto 31.61% to 31.56%. No matter how you slice it, the former Mariner state champions have solidified their legacy in area wrestling lore.

Christopher Minto of Mariner High School is on the News-Press wrestling all area team.

Minto won three state championships from 2021-2023, including an undefeated junior season. He finished fourth in the nation at 160 pounds for Nebraska at last month's NCAA Championships.

Minto became the Tritons' first three-time state champion after winning the titles from 2017-2019. He went undefeated in his junior and senior seasons.
