Now it's time for readers to pick their girls basketball player of the year.
The Athens-area saw no state champions on this side, but North Oconee mnade it to the semifinals and Athens Christian made it to their first state championship game in roughly 36 years.
Below are the nominees for the girls basketball postseason all-area team. These athletes were nominated by their coaches.
