ESPN recently highlighted one Day 3 "sleeper" at the wide receiver position, which could be of interest to the Jacksonville Jaguars, since it is a position of need.
Not every need is going to get addressed right away in the NFL draft--there just aren't enough resources to go around in most instances. So being able to find some more immediate help on Day 3 is obviously extremely valuable.
One of those needs for the Jaguars lies at wide receiver. There are already options on the roster in Parker Washington, Dyami Brown, and Gabe Davis when it comes to filling that No. 2 role alongside Brian Thomas Jr., but there is also uncertainty regarding who will step up consistently enough to provide that needed stability.
So, further adding to this group to create more competition shouldn't be out of the question, and in a number of mock drafts, it has been a priority for the Jaguars.
However, if the Jaguars are unable to address the receiver position on Days 1 or 2 of the NFL draft, or if they want to double-dip and make two selections, Matt Miller recently mentioned Arkansas' Isaac TeSlaa as a Day 3 prospect who he really likes.
"TeSlaa had a dominant performance at the combine in positional drills, which helped overcome a quiet statistical 2024 season in a struggling Arkansas offense," wrote Miller. "But there were moments, like a 75-yard touchdown against Texas A&M, that make you think he has the tools to break out. Plus, he didn't drop any balls in 2023."
TeSlaa is a big-bodied receiver, measuring in at 6-035 - 214 pounds. He is also a terrific athlete, posting a near-perfect Relative Athletic Score of 9.97.
Over the last two seasons, TeSlaa has caught 62% of his 100 targets and averaged 14.2 yards per catch, which includes averaging a whopping 19.0 yards per reception in 2024.
He was particularly effective at picking up YAC, according to PFF, and was often targeted over the middle of the field.
The majority of TeSlaa's snaps came from the slot, but he does have boundary experience as well. Being able to move around the formation will be important at the receiver position in Liam Coen's offense.
With four picks in the first three rounds, the Jaguars certainly could have the opportunity to address the receiver position before Day 3, but as Round 4 and beyond unfolds, TeSlaa may be a name to watch for.
