ESPN picks non-Day 1 draft prospect for Jaguars at key position of need

Cal cornerback Nohl Williams is a name to watch for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the upcoming NFL draft.

ESPN NFL draft analyst Jordan Reid selected Williams as a non-Day 1 prospect for the Jaguars who could fill one of their more pressing needs.

"Jacksonville's secondary remains a major concern even after signing Lewis," wrote Reid. "Williams is a physical corner with good ball skills. His scheme versatility allows him to be effective in press man and zone coverage."

Williams is a very experienced player with over 3,300 career snaps over five seasons--the last two of which were at Cal.

Williams put together a career year in 2024, allowing a completion rate of just 48% on 65 targets and at 11.3 yards per catch. He also totaled a whopping seven interceptions with nine pass breakups.

For what it's worth, Williams also graded out well against the run by PFF's metrics.

The addition of Jourdan Lewis in free agency helped provide some stability at cornerback, but as Reid notes, there are still unknowns, including how Jarrian Jones will adjust to the boundary, not to mention that improved depth is still a need as well.
