Inter loanee Francesco Pio Esposito has officially signed a contract extension with the Nerazzurri until June 2030.
Promising Italian striker Francesco Pio Esposito has signed a contract extension with Inter until 2030.
The 19-year-old striker is out on loan at Spezia, where he has scored 14 goals in 29 Serie B matches.
“A story about Inter, a story about family: Francesco Pio Esposito has officially extended his contract with Inter until 30 June 2030. Born in Castellammare di Stabia on 28 June 2005, the young forward grew up dreaming of becoming a footballer,” Inter said in a statement.
“He shared this dream with his brothers Salvatore and Sebastiano, with whom he shared his childhood experiences and the first kicks of a ball. At the age of six years old, Francesco Pio joined Brescia’s youth sector, alongside his brothers: a common journey given that, three years later in 2014, all three moved to Inter. It was the start of a success-filled adventure which demonstrated Francesco Pio’s growth and brought him to the professional level. In the 2018/19 season, he was part of the Inter Under 14 side, where he was coached by Christian Chivu, a coach who proved decisive for his career.
“Esposito played with every team in the Inter youth sector, experiencing a difficult two years as the Under 15 and Under 16 leagues were postponed as a result of the pandemic. In the 2021/22 season, Francesco Pio became the starting forward for the Inter Under 17 side, reaching the Championship final with them. He scored 21 goals in 24 appearances between the regular season and play-offs. It was a decisively positive year, during which he also played 12 matches for the Under 18 side and made his Primavera debut, playing eight minutes in the Youth League win away to Sheriff Tiraspol. “Esposito played underage in the Primavera side, coached by Christian Chivu. The Romanian Coach chose him as captain of the side and Francesco Pio showed his value, scoring 16 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions. The time for his big jump up came in the Summer of 2023 as Esposito moved to Spezia on loan, in Serie B, where he encountered professional football for the first time. In his first season, he scored three goals in 38 appearances in the league: which proved to be the dress rehearsal for the great season he is having now.
