Despite the Pittsburgh Steelers’ busy offseason acquisition of star WR DK Metcalf, it’s been a relatively quiet past few months for WR George Pickens—until now.
Aside from his cryptic Tom Brady social media post that sparked trade speculation, Pickens had been radio silent this offseason, including being absent from the UCLA throwing session between Metcalf and potential future Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers.
Pickens did get his offseason workout in, however—alongside former disgruntled Steelers WR Diontae Johnson, who had a controversial conclusion to his 2024 season.
Recently, Pickens and Johnson were both spotted working out with James Everett Jr., a.k.a. Route God.
Route God posted a clip on Instagram of both Johnson and Pickens running crisp routes—Johnson wearing an all-white T-shirt, and Pickens in a black shirt that read “can’t believe you doubted me.”
Will Pickens follow in Johnson’s footsteps—on a one-way trip out of the Steel City and possibly out of the NFL altogether? Or will the promising young Pittsburgh Steelers WR finally put his antics behind him in 2025?
