George Pickens’ dad calls out Steelers: ‘Six QBs in 3 years—I appreciate your sanity 14’

If George Pickens’ 2024 regular season could be defined by one word, it would no doubt be immaturity—while his future in the Steel City remains surrounded by uncertainty. One man, however, isn’t buying into the anti-Pickens narrative stemming from several heated conflicts and the sporadic behavior of the Steelers' star WR—Pickens’ father.

Dov Kleiman, a popular sports media personality, recently brought attention to comments and criticisms made by George Pickens Sr. over a week ago.

On X, Pickens Sr. criticized the Pittsburgh Steelers for their inability to find a long-term solution at the quarterback position, while also praising his son's sanity throughout the chaos:

“Food for Thought: GP has played with 1. Trubisky, 2. Pickett, 3. Rudolph, 4. Wilson, 5. Fields, 6. ????. All in 3 years. I can appreciate your sanity, #14.”

While fans have certainly echoed the sentiment surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers’ struggles at quarterback, not many would agree that Pickens acted sane throughout the 2024 season.

Any wide receiver might lose their mind playing under Mitch Trubisky, Kenny Pickett, and Mason Rudolph—but Justin Fields and Russell Wilson were arguably the best quarterbacks Pickens has played with in his entire football career.

Pickens’ dad may need to change his tone quickly, however, as Rudolph could end up being his son’s starting quarterback once again in 2025 if Aaron Rodgers retires.
