The Atlanta Falcons just did the Carolina Panthers and legendary linebacker Luke Kuechly dirty.
On Friday afternoon, now-former wide receiver Julio Jones announced his retirement from the NFL. Jones, of course, spent the bulk of his Hall of Fame-bound career with the Falcons—who selected the University of Alabama standout with the sixth pick of the 2011 draft.
Throughout his decorated run, Jones proved to be a menace for pretty much anyone he faced—including the NFC South rival Panthers. So Atlanta, in celebrating the greatest pass catcher in their franchise's history, trolled Carolina by literally posting an 11-hour loop of Jones' memorable "Mossing" of Kuechly back in 2015 . . .
That 70-yard touchdown catch helped propel the Falcons to a 20-13 upset over the Panthers, who were 14-0 entering the contest. (Yeah, that one hurts a little extra.)
Oh, and Jones followed that up next season by torching Carolina for a career-high 300 receiving yards in another Atlanta triumph.
Anyway, congratulations, Julio . . . and also, good riddance!
