After 13 NFL seasons, including 10 years with the Atlanta Falcons, Julio Jones officially retired over the weekend. The 36-year-old will go down as one of the most dominant players to ever suit up at the wide receiver position.
Jones was so good that even his biggest rivals can't deny he deserves to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Look no further than New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan.
The man who made a career out of sacking Matt Ryan stuck up for Jones on social media. Jordan called out a fan for doubting Jones' Hall of Fame credentials on Twitter.
Nahhh even with all my Atl disrespect he a legend 13k yards . He was the gameplan https://t.co/YDmaem2aKy

"Even with all my ATL disrespect, he [is] a legend (13k yards)," wrote Jordan. "He was the game plan."
Jones certainly has a strong case for the Hall of Fame. There was a five-year stretch where he was the most physically dominant, consistent wide receiver in the NFL. If not for the team's Super Bowl collapse against the New England Patriots, Jones might receive more national recognition.
The Falcons traded up to select Jones with the sixth overall pick in the 2011 draft. During his 10 seasons in Atlanta, the seven-time Pro Bowl wideout recorded 848 receptions for 12,896 yards and 60 touchdowns. Jones was traded away during the 2021 offseason but his career was never the same.
Regardless of how his 13-year NFL career ended, Jones should be a first-ballot Hall of Famer. It's so obvious that even a Saints legend can see it.
