ESPN's Mina Kimes believes Rams are the best fit for QB Jaxson Dart

Add Mina Kimes to the list of pundits who think the Los Angeles Rams should draft Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart.

The ESPN NFL analyst believes Dart's best chance to succeed at the next level is to sit behind an experience starter for at least a season before he takes over. The Rams are one of the top fits in that regard, especially since a lot of others believe L.A. could be interested in adding a young quarterback to their room to backup Matthew Stafford.

“He has a lot to learn," Kimes said. "I would love for him, Dart, to end up with a team like the Rams where he can sit for a year because I do think it would help a great deal.”

As mentioned earlier, Kimes is not the first ESPN analyst to connect Dart to the Rams. Ex-NFL general manager and current ESPN analyst Mike Tannenbaum picked Dart for the Rams' first-round selection in his mock draft. Others at the network like Jordan Reid, Field Yates and Matt Miller also think Dart is a good fit in L.A.

The question is: Where should the Rams take him? A lot of mock drafts have Dart somewhere in the late-first to the early-second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The Rams could use the No. 26 pick on him but risk missing out on a Day 1 contributor. L.A. also doesn't have a second-round pick and would likely need to make a trade (either back or up from the third round into the second round) in order to secure Dart.

Dart is obviously a solid prospect after he led the SEC in passing yards (4,279) and completion percentage (69.3%) with 29 touchdowns and only six interceptions. But, as Kimes said, Dart isn't perfect and has a lot of fundamentals to clean up. He also needs to learn how to run an NFL offense before he can step into a starting role. That's why the Rams is an ideal scenario, plus it would give L.A. a true heir to when Stafford eventually leaves.

Unfortunately, it might cost too much to take Dart over an immediate impact position like cornerback, receiver or linebacker.
