The Georgia Bulldogs and Oregon Ducks are locked into an intense recruiting battle over five-star quarterback recruit Jared Curtis. Curtis, who is a member of the class of 2026, was previously committed to Georgia, but decommitted from the Bulldogs in Oct. 2024.
The five-star passer has taken several visits to both Georgia and Oregon and has lined up visits with both schools ahead of his May 5 commitment. Curtis has an impressive combination of arm talent and mobility.
As his commitment nears, ESPN's Eli Lederman (subscription required) offered a prediction on where Curtis will commit to. "The same relationships that landed Georgia Curtis' initial commitment this past March should win out again in a tight recruitment, particularly with the Bulldogs expected to step up their NIL efforts with the 2026 class in the wake of several misses with top recruits in recent cycles," said Lederman.
Georgia's 2026 recruiting class would get a major boost if the Dawgs add Curtis, who could be Georgia's first five-star quarterback signee since Justin Fields. Most major recruiting outlets are not quite ready to predict where Curtis will land. Curtis is split on his decision and there's not much of an indicator that he is leaning one way or the other.
The 6-foot-4, 225-pound quarterback plays high school football for Nashville Christian School in Nashville, Tennessee. The 247Sports Composite ranks Curtis as the No. 2 recruit in the country, the top-ranked quarterback and the best recruit in Tennessee.
