Big hits power John Curtis to a 5-4 win over Jesuit in game two of their series

HARAHAN, La. — John Curtis defeated Jesuit, 5-4, in game two of their Catholic League series Thursday night at Harahan Playground.

Down two in the third inning, junior Jeffrey Curtis smashed a two-run home run over the Big Blue monster in left field to tie the game at three.

Jesuit would respond in the top of the fifth inning with an RBI-single from Harry Leche that would give the Jays the 4-3 lead.

The Patriots would counter in the bottom of the sixth with a bases-loaded walk that tied the game at four and follow that up with a go-ahead RBI-single from Nate Alario.

Juan Washington would close out Jesuit in the top of the seventh inning for a 5-4 win over the Blue Jays.

Curtis will host Edna Karr Friday at 4 p.m. over at Harahan Playground.

Jesuit is scheduled to face Warren Easton Saturday at noon over at John Ryan Stadium.
