Colorado's Travis Hunter landing with the Cleveland Browns looking 'more likely'

Colorado two-way star and 2024 Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter seems to have his draft destination locked up.

After going out to dinner with the Cleveland Browns brass before Colorado's pro day, Hunter appears destined to be the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft.

On Monday, ESPN's Adam Schefter said that the Browns could still be deciding between Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter and Hunter, but Hunter seems to have a leg up.

"I believe Travis Hunter is the more likely pick at [No.] 2 today," Schefter said on the Monday episode of his podcast.

Hunter is arguably the draft's top overall player after he dominated as a cornerback and wide receiver in his two seasons with the Buffaloes. During his Heisman-winning year, Hunter racked up 96 catches, 1,258 receiving yards and 15 receiving touchdowns, 36 tackles and four interceptions.

Why the Browns? Schefter said Friday's pro day, as did his potential star power, put Hunter over the edge.

"The Cleveland Browns watched [Hunter] on Friday at his pro day and they saw somebody who could move like nobody else," Schefter explained. "I think he could play two ways for them, but I think they may think of him more as a receiver than a cornerback."

Hunter will push to play two ways, but as an elite receiver, he would be a major draw for Browns fans.

Nothing is set in stone yet, and there remains a tiny chance the Browns could take Hunter's quarterback, Shedeur Sanders. However, Hunter seems set to be the second player off the board after Miami's Cam Ward.
